Maybe you already have the appointment.
Maybe this is someone you have seen once or twice, but you have never felt completely comfortable. Maybe a friend gave you a name. Maybe you found an injector on Instagram. Maybe a promotion caught your attention.
Before you sit in the chair, ask yourself one important question:
Do I actually know enough about this injector to feel confident trusting them with my face?
You may have researched the treatment. Have you researched the person doing the injecting?
Price matters. Training matters. Credentials matter. Social media can help you discover someone. But none of those things, by themselves, tell you how an injector will listen to you, assess your concerns, explain their thinking, answer your questions, or care for you throughout the experience.
That is why I think choosing an injector deserves a little research of its own.
Research the injector, not just the treatment
Start with the basics. Look at the injector's education, professional background, and experience.
Then go a little deeper.
Can you learn how they approach patient care? Can you find meaningful reviews from people they have treated? Do patients talk about feeling heard and comfortable? Does the injector explain why they are discussing a particular option? Do they appear willing to answer questions about concerns, previous treatment, alternatives, and realistic expectations?
A polished Instagram page can be entertaining. A trending video can show personality. A special price can get your attention.
Those things are not bad. They just should not be the only information you use when deciding who will treat your face.
Training matters. So does applied experience.
I believe strongly in continuing education.
Training creates the foundation. It helps an injector build knowledge about anatomy, products, contraindications, safety, and technique.
But real patients are not one-size-fits-all.
Age, anatomy, movement, previous treatment, goals, and personal preferences can all affect the conversation. Experience is what helps an injector take what they have learned and apply it thoughtfully to the individual person in front of them.
So when you research an injector, do not only ask what courses they have taken.
Also ask yourself:
Can I understand how they apply that knowledge to their patients?
What should a good consultation feel like?
I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions.
If you tell me what you think you want, I want to understand what is bothering you and what you hope to accomplish.
If you have several concerns but a specific budget, I would rather talk through your priorities than make the visit feel like a transaction. Sometimes it makes more sense to focus on what matters most to you first and revisit other concerns later.
If you are nervous, tell me. If you had treatment somewhere else and did not love the experience, tell me. If a friend had a result that made you nervous, ask me about it. If you are not sure why something is being discussed, ask why.
For me, patient education is part of patient care.
You should leave a consultation understanding more than you did when you walked in.
What can reviews and referrals tell you?
Reviews do not tell you everything, but patterns can be useful.
Look beyond the star rating and read what people actually say. Do patients repeatedly mention that the injector listens? Do they talk about feeling comfortable? Do they mention natural-looking results as a goal? Do they say their questions were answered? Do they refer friends and family? Do they return over time?
I have been fortunate to care for patients who have continued to see me for years, referred people they care about, and even planned appointments around trips back to Tennessee.
I do not take that trust lightly.
To me, that kind of loyalty is earned one appointment at a time.
Seven questions to ask before your appointment
1. Do I understand this injector's background and experience?
Can you find enough information to understand their professional background, education, and real-world experience?
2. Can I find meaningful patient feedback?
Look for patterns in reviews and referrals, not just one glowing comment or one negative story.
3. Can I understand how this injector approaches patient care?
Do they share enough information for you to understand what matters to them and what you can expect from a consultation?
4. Have I been given a clear explanation?
Do you understand why a particular treatment or approach is being discussed with you?
5. Do I feel comfortable asking questions?
You should not feel rushed, dismissed, or embarrassed for wanting more information.
6. Does the experience feel individualized?
Do you feel like the conversation is about your concerns, goals, history, and preferences, or does it feel like the same script could be used for anyone?
7. Do I feel informed enough to trust this person with my face?
This may be the most important question.
If the answer is, "I am not sure," that does not automatically mean you chose the wrong injector.
It may simply mean you need more information before you decide to proceed.
And it is completely reasonable to ask for it.
Why I make my approach easy to research
This is one reason I have put so much information on my website.
I do not expect you to choose me just because I tell you I am experienced. I want you to be able to learn about me and decide for yourself.
My background in aesthetics dates to 2005, and I became a registered nurse in 2018. I continue to invest in anatomy and aesthetic education because I believe education and experience should keep building on each other.
On this site, you can read about my approach to natural-looking results, first-time treatment, previous filler, anatomy education, patient relationships, and the questions I think patients should be asking.
I want you to understand how I think before you ever sit in my chair.
I see patients exclusively at Pearl Scott Health & Beauty in Farragut.
My goal is not to convince every person who reads this that I am the right injector for them. My goal is to give you enough information to decide whether my approach feels right for you.
If you are unsure, I would love the opportunity to answer your questions and earn your trust and your business.
Already have an appointment somewhere else? You can still ask more questions.
If you already have an appointment scheduled somewhere else for a wrinkle relaxer or dermal filler, you are still welcome to meet with me before you decide what feels right for you.
Having an appointment on the calendar does not mean you have to proceed with treatment if you do not feel comfortable or do not have the information you need.
Before you go through with treatment, ask yourself:
Do I understand this injector's experience?
Do I understand why this approach is being discussed for me?
Do I feel comfortable asking questions?
Do I feel confident that this person understands my goals?
If you are unsure about any of those things, I would love the opportunity to meet you.
Schedule a complimentary consultation with me. Tell me what you are considering, what matters to you, what you are nervous about, and what you hope to accomplish. Ask me the hard questions.
My goal is to give you enough information to make your own decision with confidence.
If you meet with me and still decide another provider is the better fit for you, that is okay. I would rather earn your trust by being transparent than pressure you into choosing me.
But if my approach makes sense to you, I would be grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust and your business.
